Father Time, Still Undefeated
I hate the Yankees, probably as much as any team in sports, but this this post from @gruber on Rivera’s injury and the aging Yankees is great. I feel the same way about my teams and favorite players. I’m 39 and my favorite ballplayer ever, Chipper Jones, has announced this is his final season. You just want one more great season from the players you follow but eventually those seasons run out.
As a side note, John Gruber writes a lot of stuff about Apple, technology, etc over at Daring Fireball, but this post shows that great writers can write about anything if they’re passionate enough about the subject.
