The MacSparky Paperless Field Guide
I’m barely into this and can already say it’s one of the best $5 I’ve spent on iTunes. I’ve been wanting to go paperless for some time at the home office and this book is finally going to push me to getting it done.
Also, if this is any indication of the quality of book we can expect regularly from Apple iBooks Author I’ll be spending a lot more time in iBooks going forward.

Sales Versus Surveys
I thought @gruber’s take on this was pretty funny (and a little bit true).
If I wanted to be a dick, I’d suggest that these surveys skew toward Android because Android buyers are more likely to be dumb enough to waste time answering market share surveys. But I don’t want to be a dick, so I won’t.

The Russians Used a Pencil: The 4-inch iPhone
A couple weeks ago, a gentlemen named Timothy Collins called into the Vergecast podcast and sent the blogosphere into a tizzy by suggesting how Apple could increase the screen size in a new iPhone by simply elongating the screen to a 16:9 (ish) ratio, while keeping the same resolution (326 dpi)….
Good mockups of what a 4” iPhone might look like.

Inside Foxconn: Exclusive look at how an iPad is made
I’ve been following along since Rob Schmitz reported on the lies of Mike Daisey, it’s really fascinating, great investigative journalism. It’s stuff nobody talks about but everyone wonders about.

Two Brothers Switch
I have two brothers, both recently switched to Apple products. The younger of the two was in the market for a new laptop and decided to get an iPad instead. He mostly reads the web and messages and plays games on Xbox so iPad was perfect. He can play games on there now too and it’s easily portable since he seems to move around quite a bit.
The other was an even bigger surprise since he’s been outspoken about how much he liked his Android phones over the last few years. He said it was just getting frustrating so he finally got an iPhone 4S on Verizon a few weeks ago and he loves it. I’ve been trying to convince him for a few years, turns out Android convinced him what I couldn’t.
Glad to see y’all move over. Hopefully my wife will be able to grab me a new iPad Friday in store when they go on sale.
And credit my youngest sister, she’s owned a Mac for years; I use to give her shit about it all the time.
