Ahh shit, game on!!! I was so damn close to ordering a Curve earlier today via Amazon you don’t even know. I’m at the end of my contract with Cingular so I could get a Curve from them with a 2 year renewal for MINUS $30 after rebate. I’ll be waiting on the 8820 now though. Even though it doesn’t have a camera, WiFi is more important to me than a camera. I actually USE the web browser on my phone which is one reason I’m truly tempted by the iPhone.
I had about half of this long drawn out post about which phone / email combo would be the best. The just of it is I’d like to use Gmail for Domains but it doesn’t sync with Blackberry, it just has the Java app. I’d use plain Gmail but it’s a pain for me to load all my old email there (for Domains doesn’t have this problem). There’s also that whole sent ‘on behalf of gmail’ thing if you use free Gmail with a custom from address. I’d like just one login to iGoogle, Reader, Email, and Calendar but with Google for Domains you end up with multiple logins because for Domain doesn’t do iGoogle and Reader.
There is no correct answer out there folks. I truly think Blackberry and Apple are getting close in and year or so they’ll have it. Apple + Google on a phone would make for a remarkable device. Add Google Apps, Email, and Calendar sync with an iPhone form factor with WiFi, 3g, Safari, and iPod and you’ve got the ultimate convergence device. Combine the same thing with a Blackberry and it’s a business man’s dream machine. We’re so close, I can taste it. It tastes like Apples and Blackberries.
