I finished reading Watchmen tonight. I started reading it a while back but got busy with work and put it down. This week while sitting at the hospital it’s been a great companion and tonight back at my Mom’s I finally finished it off. I was really surprised I liked it this much since I’ve never been a fan of comics. The story was amazing and confusing all at the same time, but in a good complex way. Next up is The Dark Knight Returns or The Ultimates. I’m 34 years old and just discovered comic books.
On The Coast, Unexpectedly
Shelley and I have been back home (MS Coast) since Monday morning. Her Grandpa had a heart attack Sunday night so we drove home through the night. It’s the first time I’ve ever done the drive through the night thing; left Shreveport at 12:30am and arrived in Gulfport at 6:30am. You’d think I’d have fallen asleep. I’m bad just driving home from Jackson on a Friday afternoon but I guess the adrenaline kicked in or something.
Her Grandpa is not doing well and we don’t expect him to make it but he’s being stubborn and still hanging on. He was a tough old man and will be missed by more people than I even know.
BlackBerry 8820 Soon?
BlackBerry Cool | BlackBerry 8820 on AT&T by August 13th?
Obviously, take this with the grain of salt that all rumors deserve, but over the past year we’ve come to trust Boy Genius when he drops a date in our laps (even while he’s smacking us around like the BlackBerry-happy punks that we are). The straight word coming from an AT&T insider is that the BlackBerry 8820, with all it’s Wi-Fi and MicroSDHC goodness, will launch on North America’s largest GSM carrier by August 13th or 14th.
Considering that we haven’t heard a peep from AT&T enterprise users about a soft-launch, it seems like we got it half right last time. Oh well, that’s what we get for being BG wannabes. The biggest question now, however, is how quickly can we get our informant friend to send us an unlocked 8820 for use on Rogers?

Tivo To Go
As part of the move, we’re switching from cable to satellite television. We had DirecTV when we lived in Biloxi (trash stuck to my dish) and enjoyed it. The one downside of the switch is my Tivo Series 3 becomes pretty useless. I also have a Series 2 unit that I haven’t used for a couple months since I got HD in the bedroom. So if anyone is interested in either unit I’m going to sell them. The Series 3 is under contract until October so I’ll be paying the $12.95 a month until then whether I’m using it or not. The Series 2 is out of contract, it’s a 140 hour unit. I’d like to send both to a good home.
