ESPN has turned into Court TV lately with athletes being charged with crimes almost everyday. In many cases the alleged are only guilty of being in the wrong place at the wrong time and being the only face people recognize. But as much as I hate to say it I think it’s only going to get worse, especially in the NBA where poor kids from very rough neighborhoods get rich straight out of highschool and don’t know how to handle it. They don’t realize everybody wants a piece of their pie and will do anything they can to take a little. The Kobe case is actually the exception to the above, it’s being handled as such with the media on his side for the most part. If Iverson or Kenyon Martin were up on sexual assault charges all you’d be hearing is how they did it.
